The 2024 Tucson Hybrid grabbed my attention, but now the 2025 facelift is another level. Will be ordering mine as soon as available
Yep, pretty excited to see it
Good job man! Tucson should pay you $10,000 bonus for your acting skills to make CRV look bad. I own 5 crv and the Auto Unlock never happens like the way you act. I am not related to Honda company.
😂, thanks for the comment
Wondering does it come with Heated steering wheel?
Yes it does, but this one needed a recall to add the button.
That is really great SUV also I did not know the memory seating remembers your radio presets also you’re lighting settings and I know everything is part of bluelink
Thx for the comment!
They also have a 31 L drawer version which you can put in the trunk easily, and open it without needing to move it. That's the one we're probably going to get if we do (though we'd have to figure out getting it to Canada since that's not one of the models that they ship to us). Even the top opening 30 L one without wheels, which is shorter than yours at 16.2" needs to be moved deeper into the trunk to close the trunk, and closer to the opening to open the cooler. Of course, in the trunk you need to get power to it from somewhere, and the drawer version doesn't have a place to slot a battery into (though you can of course plug it into one). In early versions of the 2023 Ioniq 6 manual, it listed a 12V socket in the trunk (Were you early enough to get it included?), but other 2023 Ioniq 6 owners, and my mother with a 2024 Ioniq 6 Ultimate don't have one. So we either need to put a battery in the trunk or run a cable to it from one of the sockets inside the passenger compartment. I haven't checked how difficult that is. I know we could just slip one between the seats, but I worry about friction and vibration eventually rubbing a hole in the wire insulation.
Thanks for the comment!. I actually already have a smaller one from a different brand, however it's not as nice as the Bodega one. Unfortunately my ioniq 6 does not have a 12 volt outlet in the trunk, at least not from factory lol. Make sure anyone you know who's interested in buying one of these uses Edsgarage for a discount code! 😁 Thank you for the comment!
Excited to see that racing! Planning to do some myself soon
Going tomorrow! 😁
Interesting test Ed. Harder to do maybe but try one on wear. We often hear from the EV haters that they go through tires 2-3 times faster than normal tires due to the battery wait. My wife has 22 Model 3 dual motor with the original tires and they have 36,000 K on them. I have a digital and manual tire gauge and are checking them regularly. The tire wear is completely normal.
Yeah the consensus is that they wear about 25% faster. Though that's tough to test.... I'd need an equivalent model ice car on the same tires. And I'd need to watch the difference over tens of thousands of km. That's not a video I'm willing to try to make 😂
They attribute it to launches also. The assumption being that people will be using max acceleration with some frequency.
My first EV BMW i3 changed the Bridgestones after circa 30k miles. My second EV VW ID3, had Bridgestone EV tyres too, changed on the rears after 9k miles. I really think it depends on the car and tyre combo. In my experience, EV tyres don’t make you go through tyres less often. And I wouldn’t consider 9k miles normal wear, quite aggressive. ID3 isn’t that much heavier than a 5 series BMW so I didn’t expect this level of wear. My 3rd EV comes with sporty Bridgestone non-ev tyres, I will see how much life I get from those. As you can see I’m an EV enthusiast, but I have experienced accelerated tyre wear on my EV.
The button on the left of the gauge cluster is a fingerprint scanner. We don’t use ours too much, it’s a bit gimmicky
Thank you!
my tuscon hybrid cannot pick up whatsapp call.i am not sure why? can you help?
That's not your Tucson.. what'sapp just doesn't work right for voice calls within Android auto unfortunately.

Amazing video. I always been a Honda person, but you just sold me on the Tucson
Wow! Thank you for commenting!

Thank you!
Thank you for your thorough reviews and walkthroughs. Thanks to your videos I knew every single functions of my Kona EV when I took delivery, even shown a few to my salesman lollll
Lol, glad I could help!
There's a class-action lawsuit against the 2016-2019 Chevy Volts, because of the unavailability of replacement parts for critical systems in the Volt. When GM stopped making the Volt, they also stopped making sufficient replacement parts for it. My daughter has a 2016 Volt that has been parked for over 6 months, waiting for a replacement control module that may never arrive. She had to go ahead and buy a different car. It's a shame that GM is abandoning their customers like that.
Have you looked around at wrecking yards? Perhaps a pre-owned part might be available
Can you list the part number that's needed? I might be able to help
@@edsgarage001 Thank you! My daughter tells me it's the EGR valve. Last year it was the ECM, but that has since been fixed.
The dealership says there's a months-long waiting list for that part. But no ETA on when more parts will arrive.
Pretty sure the part number is 12691147 www.ebay.com/itm/355358283036?itmmeta=01J0PRSFN79NYWBSMB8V36EY8B&hash=item52bd01151c:g:iZEAAOSwgm5lm2cD&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA4DsgSs77Xkxqa032Ptqu2WS94DBZDNfLemcYnlsljGxFCVQ%2BEgEn%2FeOoGgQh%2FpcpVrxX95ancP5a6gRtPVL3AzcRwKfMyfBevtCl1sgxkTLtZ%2BrGBsQ%2FSazNiIYh5h34LUa%2BdkKuY3Ds8YwDPiLQhRcrEaRH3ISzcp30LUfEXqSpCyHoxOGV0NO2lH3eVbOORqWwxHmAuyZd2heIdzKsWt56OJRVVRfcZnSsMMicLNAe%2FonbK0hUptU5iCQu8QqjzJNqs9a9qXB8IzwQQ0iUpQZKawN0BGBiRbO13AlzCueb%7Ctkp%3ABFBM1vrl2IVk
Rather like cycling into a strong wind and then turning round and heading back, high winds are not a zero gain. To get the same result on a windy day means they are doing something. Perhaps experiment with teh locations too. Were they too close to the trailing edge, hence not allowing vortex to form, or is that the recommended location?
According to the website that sells the same things, this was the recommended location. I did the test in both directions. I just don't think I was going fast enough to see a difference.
I will take the one that comes with a spare tire, or has space for an after-market spare tire. I don't think either one has space for a spare tire.
I guess you're buying a Tucson hybrid then! 😁 Check out my video response: ua-cam.com/users/shortsCTARrDvw1VE?si=y4dTj5o9s87rPjpM
Own a 2022 Luxury hybrid tucson , 46k km till now. Piano black and touch buttons- Dirt is an annoying issue. Scratch- I used screen protectors for the entire touch controls and fly by wire buttons. On Ave 6.5l/100km during the summers and 7 to 8 l/100km bit of mixed highway and city driving. with Toronto GTA roads and highways , well the hybrid system is a blessing. Paddle shift never bothered to use them. Cruise control is great during long drives, forward collision warning. One issue i faced is during highway driving any object getting close to drivers side rear( only left side) automatically engages brakes and veers car away -annoying though.
Thanks for the comment!
Worth less video
Hey look, a Honda fan! Great input, thank you for your engaging and concise opinion. Perhaps you could add some info and evidence to backup your comment though.
Ed great comparison. I test drove a New 2024 CR-V recently. It was a Sport Touring spec trim, non hybrid,So top-of-the line. Nice vehicle but NO PANORAMIC ROOF, NO HEAD-UP DISPLAY, & only a 9-inch color touch screen. So it’s missing some features that I would want, but I would wait for the 2025 Tucson over this 2024 model. But I like the Hyundai brand over Honda because it’s more reliable as you stated and THE QUALITY OF HYUNDAI VEHICLES is BETTER than Honda, Nissan, Subaru, and Mazda IMO! Great job Ed!😉🚙
Thank you for the comment!!
just got a 2024 tuscan hybrid ultimate.. an absolutely amazing vehicle!! wish ambient lighting was stronger only complaint, lots of space, love the lane keep assist!
Thank you!
I would definitely wait for the 25 facelift for the Tucson. Not much change on the outside, but the inside has much better and practical cockpit. PHYSICAL BUTTONS! Instead of the atrocious piano black.
Fair enough.. I agree, I prefer buttons and less piano black. But I'll say this for the Tucson's touch sensitive buttons, they actually work remarkably well.
@@edsgarage001 Yeah, I actually watched a couple of your reviews on the Tucson. My family ended up getting one and it got so many features for the price, which was also the reason I looked over the piano black. They are so hard to clean and now it's all scratched up after like 6 months of owning it. Maybe there is a way to polish it later? And I hate the rims on the lower trims, but can't complain too much, right? xD My cousin has a BMW X3 and it didn't even have lane assist, warning or anything at a similar trim level. And it's really funny how different manufactures decide on what features they include on their trims. My Mazda has a Heads Up Display, but no auto headlights, I find that crazy haha.
Wow, that's nuts
Sadly Nahtlatch burned down last summer.
Yep, I actually teared up.... Them immediately bought a fwdabc membership
All the things I want to turn off lol. Wow, how I hate all the new technology. I really miss having a cd player! I was shocked the other day when I got in and started my 2023 Elantra and a notice onscreen alerted me to a low key fob battery. What? It's only a year and a half old. I've owned Hyundai's since 1995 and never heard of such a thing. I never even considered that...never even knew that even happens. I've put over 200,000 miles on most of my cars and never had any issues such as this. My spare Hyundai is a 2013...same fob same battery. Even my other 11 year old Hyundai (165,000 miles)...no problem. This is something I've never heard of before. Weird. I'm so old school...🤣 Automatic Breaking if you get too close? No way brother. Lane adjustments? Are you kidding? No car key? Push button start...hate that. After a year and a half I'm still not used to it and constantly leave the car running. Yea, yea, I know. I'm too old. But I miss the simpler times. These days making things simple makes them more difficult (and us lazy). Then again, I don't have a smartphone either. Ok...I'm done😆
Thanks for the input! My Mom didn't want the autonomous braking on either, but I convinced her to leave it turned on. Well thankfully we did, because a few months after purchasing her vehicle she was looking in her side view mirror when somebody stepped out in front of her car, and the car slammed on the brakes and possibly saved that person's life. The autonomous emergency braking is something you'll never need until you do, and then you'll be thankful you had it.
A bit tongue in cheek - Inducters can store charge too! 🙂
Thx for the comment!
19:40 In Google maps you can download maps for offline use, that might be useful for you. I have done it for my local area and from time to time I can see a message about updating offline maps.
Thanks we are getting a 2018 Hyundai Tucson Value next week. This will be a big update for us. Thank# for this video.
My pleasure!
Stupid question but I assume a spare tire, jack, lug wrench can be ordered if customer is willing to pay? Great video....I just subscribed...thanks.
Yep, all of that is available for order at your local dealership. Thx so much!
@@edsgarage001 Thank you!!
No problem!
Like them with the aero covers tbh
Is that gray or green?
Amazing insight, Edward. Thank you for explaining it all in a simple way.
My pleasure! Thank you for your business! And thank you for the comment 😊
Great video thanks 👍 Whats the road & wind noise like when you get going, is it nice & quiet in the cabin, or a bit noisy?
Wind noise is extremely minimal as it's got a very very low drag coefficient. However you'll notice some road noise from the tires, it's certainly not the noisiest vehicle but it's not the quietest either.
@@edsgarage001 that sounds great, thanks so much for the information, most appreciated 👍 This will probably be our next family car, seems like the best used plug in available.
They're damn good cars 👍

Does this trim have the 360 camera?
I most definitely would have pointed out if it did... 😉 But no... That's only in the top trim
@@edsgarage001 Thanks for the quick response! Great presentation, too!
Thx!
That funny button thing is a fingerprint reader.
Thanks!
More accurate to say the straight 5 is a member of the Atlas engine family. The Vortec moniker has been applied multiple GM engine architectures including the Atlas, small block, big block, and a couple others. The V8 is absolutely a great engine, but "the one to get" is pretty subjective. I'll be shopping for a 3.7 H3, I'm a huge fan of the Atlas series.
Fair enough.. but the 3.7 inline 5 is arguably underpowered for this heavy bear of a truck. And the fuel economy is utter trash. The V8 is incredibly reliable and about the same efficiency despite having significantly more power
@@edsgarage001 yikes, I didn't realize the H3 weighs more than a 6cyl Trailblazer, and almost as much as my long wheelbase Trailblazer. The straight six in my truck is awesome but yeah, subtracting over 30hp and torque would slow it down significantly. I'll still be looking for the 3.7 though, I want to find a pretty cheap fixer-upper.
Can I use the existing SIM card in my 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport?
*sd card.... Probably not as the newer software needs more space. If you've got a 16gb SD card, you'll need to go buy a 32gb one

Glad I could help!
What is the name of this color? It’s not available on their website.
I'm in Canada.. this is meta blue
Thnx for the video! It's very useful. But why isn't there a option to report speed straps?
That's a great question... You can do it from the Google maps app.. and from Waze.
@@edsgarage001 It's possible in Waze, but it's not possible in Google Maps (via Android Auto) as far as I know.
Don't ever listen to advice from a car salesman. Not intelligent and very shady is a bad combination. It's the number one job for people just out of prison. Let that sink in
Excuse me? I have made it my personal goal in my career as a salesperson to be upfront and honest with all of my clients. If you can't believe that because you've had bad experiences, that's your problem. But don't judge us all the same way. This channel is first and foremost to assist people in understanding everything about vehicles that they own or are looking to purchase. Maybe don't judge me on one video, have a look at some of my other videos. I sell Hyundai's but I'm not afraid to call Hyundai out on their mistakes either. Look up banister Hyundai Chilliwack on Google, then do a search for my name in the reviews and see if you can find a single bad review. I've been in sales since 2015, and I've never lied to a client to make a deal.
Hi. Is the EV notify app still available in Canada?
It is on Android... Just checked the PlaySyore
Ed, have you heard anything credible about when the 2024 Elantra Hybrids will start showing up in the Lower Mainland? Been on a local dealership waiting list for almost 17 months. Thanks in advance.
We've had only one show up so far... But I can check tomorrow for you.
@@edsgarage001 Thanks, Ed. Much appreciated.
So I had a look. I don't show anything with any ETAs. All I know at the moment is that we have two coming to our dealership this year sometime.
@@edsgarage001 Thanks. Just two coming this year? I'm sure your dealership's waiting list for the Elantra hybrid is much longer than that, even with the crazy long wait.
We're only aware of two for our dealership... More might come, but that's an unknown at the moment

It's interesting how the US version (SEL with Convenience Package) has bigger 19" wheels, a regular size sunroof, full digital dash and a spare tire for the ICE version. The Canadian version gets a panoramic roof, smaller wheels and a traditional instrument cluster.
Yeah... It would probably cost Hyundai less it if they just kept them the same. But there's probably some method to their madness.
I have a huawei p30 pro and it says it's connected to the smartbox via bt and wi fi, it tries to connect on the car's screen and then says failed to connect, checked on the smartbox wi fi setting and it says "connected, no Internet", it's driving me mad, hoping somoene has a solution,
It may simply be incompatible with your phone... You might need to try a different unit
@@edsgarage001 I think you're right, I tried it in another car and same story, been trying for hours online to figure it out, found a huawei solution, have mobile data and WiFi on at the same time through developer options, sadly did not work, then I updated android auto in Google and it stopped doing anything at all, oh well, back to the cable, it's not worth spending many hundreds on a new phone, your reply was hugely appreciated👍🏻
@@edsgarage001 just to add, tried with a Samsung s24 and it works perfectly.
Test drove one of those today, but the turn signals being mounted AT THE BOTTOM OF THE BUMPER(!!) was a Deal Breaker for me, and should be for anyone else. With the exception of the drivers directly behind you, they’re invisible to everyone else, ESPECIALLY Big Rigs, that can crush you like tin foil. Too bad, because if it wasn’t for that safety shortcoming, I might have bought it.
I don't get your logic..... How do the lights being lower make them harder to see from a distance?? I know the earth is round, but.... The lights being lower, actually gets them below fog on foggy days so they're more visible from a distance. Keep in mind, these vehicles have been thoroughly tested by safety agencies and the lights have never been an issue. If the light level is such an issue, then how come sedans and hatchbacks that have lights at the same level aren't a problem??
@@edsgarage001 They are so low, they aren’t visible in too many situations. Now that you’re aware of the issue, you won’t be able to not notice it on the road when you see them, and you’ll realize why OTR Truckers (& 4 wheelers as well) HATE THEM.
I've been aware of this "issue" for years.... It's a non issue imo
@@edsgarage001 I’m not trying to be a wise guy, but if you don’t think it’s an issue, you’ve never talked to a trucker about it.
@@peglegjim57 the next trucker I talk to is going to be questioned about it
